After nearly 15 years of talking about it and patiently waiting, I’ve finally taken the decision and made the commitment. I’m about to embark on my journey towards obtaining a Light Aircraft Pilot’s License (LAPL). I cannot deny that there is some apprehension, and not a little trepidation, but I am very excited even though the fact that it’s really happening is still sinking in.
In short, obtaining my LAPL is like going back to school. It’s going to mean passing 9 exams of theoretical knowledge, completing a minimum of 30 flying hours and a final cross-country flight skills test. I’ve got a lot ahead of me.
I invite you to experience the journey with me through this blog. Exciting as the prospect is, it’s also a daunting journey and sharing the highs and lows with others will go a long way to helping me stay focused. Please feel free to post comments, ask questions and most of all offer encouragement.
CARPE CAELUM. Well done now go and do it!
